Google And T-CETRA Form Partnership To Expand Digital Content Access To Cash-Preferred Customers

—Cash-preferred Android users now have another option to access apps, games, and digital content

DUBLIN, OH (November 2, 2021)—T-CETRA, a leading financial technology solutions provider, and Google have announced a partnership to expand access to Google Play for cash-preferred customers via digital gift codes. Google Play is an online store specifically designed for Android users to find and enjoy apps, games, and digital content.

The digital gift code is available for purchase on T-CETRA’s proprietary payment portal, VIDAPAY, a secure, cloud-based payment portal that converts cash payments into secure, cashless transactions at over 10,000 retail locations in U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Launched in October 2021, the partnership allows Android customers, who do not have or prefer not to use a credit card attached to their Google Play account, to use cash to purchase a digital gift code in any increment from $5-$200 with no fees or expiration dates.

According to a 2017 FDIC report, there are 84.8 million individuals in the U.S. who are considered un- or underbanked. The underbanked comprise a market niche that has been previously deemed difficult to reach for enterprise corporations. Partnerships like these represent a breakthrough for Fortune 500 companies, joining T-CETRA’s ongoing effort to create inclusive payment solutions.

“The partnership with Google Play is another example of T-CETRA’s commitment to increasing access to an evolving digital economy for cash-preferred customers,” says Steven Ascher, Executive Vice-President of Business Development for T-CETRA.  “This also allows VIDAPAY merchants to increase revenue and better serve their Android customers, just in time for the 2021 holiday shopping season.”
